Aims
The
County Development Board was established in March 2000 primarily
to prepare a Strategy for Economic,
Social and Cultural Development of Cork County for the period
2002-2011 and oversee its implementation. This is a single strategy for
the entire county which operates as a framework for the various
organisations providing public services in the county. It is a vision for the county, a clear statement on where the county should
be within a five/ten year period and the means by which it should
achieve this objective.
The Vision Statement for the Cork
County Strategy is:
"The Strategy for Economic, Social and Cultural Developemnt
will result in an inclusive and progressive County with an enhanced
Environment and effective Infrastructure.
It will have achieved balanced Sustainable Development, redressed
Rural Decline, with Equal Access and Opportunity to Education, Work
and Services for All."
